Jacksons Building Services – Terms of Trade

These terms apply to all building and repair work carried out by Jacksons Building Services (“we”, “us”, “our”). By engaging us, you (“you”, “the client”) agree to the following:

Quotes & Pricing

All quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued.

Quotes are based on the information provided at the time. Variations or hidden conditions may change the final price.

Unless otherwise agreed, all prices are plus GST.

Deposits & Payment

For jobs over $2,000, a 30% deposit is required before work starts.

Progress claims may be issued for longer projects.

Balance is due on completion, within 7 days of invoice.

Late payments may incur interest at 2% per month plus collection costs.

Variations

Any changes to the scope of work will be priced and agreed in writing (email/text is fine) before being carried out.

Materials & Ownership

Materials remain our property until full payment is received.

A margin (typically 10–15%) is added to cover sourcing, transport, and wastage.

Site Access & Safety

You agree to provide safe, reasonable access to the site during agreed hours.

Children, pets, and other occupants must be kept clear of the work area for safety.

Guarantees & Warranties

All residential building work in NZ is covered by the Building Act implied warranties (up to 10 years).

We also stand behind our workmanship and will remedy any defects reported within 12 months of completion.

Disputes

We aim to resolve disputes promptly and in good faith.

If we cannot agree, either party may refer the matter to the Disputes Tribunal or an appropriate legal process.
