Yes. I’m an LBP. I carry public liability insurance and work to a simple, practical H&S plan on every job.
I give fixed quotes where possible. For small tasks, I use an hourly rate with a minimum call-out that covers travel and setup.
I also work 42 hrs/week as a firefighter. I book smart: small jobs get fast slots; larger work gets scheduled around my roster with clear dates. If I can’t meet your timing, I’ll say so.
Yes. You’re covered by NZ implied warranties (up to 10 years) on residential building work, plus my workmanship promise for the scope I quote. Building.govt.nz
Small jobs: payment on completion (or progress if multi-day).Larger jobs: 30% deposit, progress claims, balance at handover. Invoices are +GST if applicable.

Small–medium projects I can deliver well: decks under ~20 m², fence install/repairs, gates, pergolas/verandahs, minor renos, cladding repairs, plaster/paint touch-ups, door/window fixes, general repairs.
Some work does. If a job affects the primary structure/weathertightness (or certain fire-safety design) and needs consent, it’s RBW and must be done/supervised by an LBP with paperwork. I’ll tell you straight if consent is needed and help you line it up. Building.govt.nz

Yes. I source quality materials and pass on a standard margin (10–15%) to cover selection, pickup, and wastage management. Or I can work with materials you’ve purchased (by agreement).
Yes. Basic tidy is included. Tip fees/skip bins are listed as a line item if needed.
I’ll discuss options and price changes before proceeding. Variations are agreed in writing (text/email is fine).
